TREASURE VALLEY HANDLERS CLINIC

I received the following info from Bill Cosdon of the Treasure Valley Chapter in Idaho - They are hosting a "Handlers' Clinic" on April 9 & 10.  Any NAVHDA members are invited.  This is a great opportunity, and likely one of the few clinics available west of the Twin Cities.  Feel free to contact Bill if you are interested:  bcosdon@q.com

The clinic leader is ready... the birds are on order... the fields at the clinic site have been mowed... there's water in the ponds... we're preparing the lunch menu... I guess our Treasure Valley Chapter of NAVHDA sanctioned handlers clinic on April 9th & 10th is going to be a GREAT EVENT! Our handlers clinic will be a full 2-day event. The clinic will start promptly at 7:30 AM on Saturday, April 9th and run until approximately 5:00 PM. On Sunday, start time is again 7:30 AM and will run to approximately 3:00 PM. Lunch and soft drinks will be served at the clinic site both days!

Our clinic leader is Phil Swain out of Portland, Oregon. Phil is a long time NAVHDA Senior Judge and handler clinic specialist. Phil has been conducting sanctioned handlers clinics for over twenty years. He will share his knowledge of what to look for and how to evaluate dogs during NAVHDA Tests. This will help you prepare your own dogs to be successful at their NA, UPT or UT tests. Attending a handlers clinic is also a prerequisite in the process to become a NAVHDA judge. I've had comments from people who have attended clinics sponsored by the NAVHDA Portland Chapter (Phil's home chapter) telling me it was a great experience and well worth attending. I think our clinic will be equally outstanding too!

Our handlers clinic will be held locally at Bob Farris's "swamp" property in Notus. This is the location where our tests are usually held. The grounds are perfect for viewing running dogs and has great ponds for the water work. I will provide a site location map to those who are registered for the clinic. A portion of the clinic will be conducted inside the cabin on the property. The "classroom" portion will include a PowerPoint presentation followed by field evaluation of all stages of NAVHDA testing.

The cost for the two full day event is $100.00. I need to get your payment to secure your spot as soon as possible. The clinic is limited to twenty.

Send your payment in the form of a check made out to Treasure Valley NAVHDA and send it to:

Bill Cosdon
3924 Silver Terrace
Meridian. ID.  83642

Once I receive your check for $100.00 dollars, I will respond confirming your spot in our clinic. Remember, this is the first handlers clinic our Chapter has had in five years. It probably will be at least that long before there is another local clinic. This is a full two day event. There will be a tremendous amount of information covered. If you are attending, please send your registration money quickly. Email me if you have any questions. I'm looking forward to seeing you at our clinic!

Thank you

Bill
